Programs & Events

Programs

We currently have 2 programs in place: the Growing Ester’s Biodiversity (GEB) program, and our Children’s Reading program.

Events

In addition to its annual meeting, the JTEL holds several community events and fundraisers each year that serve to keep the library operating or just to have a great time. These are examples of what has been hosted in previous years:

  • Seedy Saturday – a seedsavers’ get-together and seed donation/checkout event!
  • Garlic sales – usually in the fall every year, we sell several different varieties.
  • Memorial Day plant sale – annuals and perennials, edible and non-edible, come on down to get some for your garden!
  • SuperHeroes Night Out – a silent auction with hundreds of goods from Fairbanks area businesses, combined with a rollicking good time and dancing to a live band!
  • The LiBerry Music Festival & Berry Pie Throwdown – live music, a berry pie contest and lots of pie to eat!

Clubs and Organizations

We currently host several special interest groups: a writer’s, knitters and a music group, and are always open to more suggestions – if interested, please contact us at info@esterlibrary.org.
