New Building

Construction began spring 2016. If you would like to contribute materials, supplies, or labor or services toward the construction of the new library building, please contact the JTEL Board of Directors at PO Box 468, Ester AK 99725, or call 374-8080. Donations to the JTEL are tax-deductible under IRS Code Section 170 as allowed by law.

Please hold off on book donations—if you can, hang on to them for a little while longer. Our storage is bulging at the seams, but we hope to have a new library in which to put our collections in about two years. If you need to move your books now and would like to donate to the library, you can take them to Gulliver’s, where we have a used book credit account. Otherwise, we recommend taking them to the Literacy Council of Alaska at Forget-Me-Not Books, which does a great job of teaching people to read and encouraging a love of ideas, critical thinking, and learning. After all, that’s what libraries and bookstores are all about.
