Good news, on December 15th, the JTEL Board of Directors unanimously approved moving forward with the Phase 1 Construction Project in 2016. The project will be the first major step of construction for the new facility.
The scope is designed to work within available funding limits from the two principal grants now in hand, and will include mass excavation of underlying silts and placement of new non-frost susceptible structural fill for the building foundation, as well as construction of the large underground thermal storage tank which is essential to the Passivhaus energy scheme. At the completion of this project, a”foundation” of underground work will be complete and ready for the next above ground phases of funding and construction.
