Kittens and puppies and kids, oh my!

Sherri reading

Thanks to a grant from the Golden Heart Community Foundation, JTEL hosted the first of many reading programs for kids, beginning yesterday with a reading of “Dewey the Library Cat” and “Marley goes to School”.  4 kids, 1 kitten and 1 puppy sat in rapt attention (well, “rapt” would be an exaggeration, as there was lots of bouncing and tumbling about), which was then followed by a coloring session in order to bring life to the library’s bulletin board in the foyer of the post office.

Thanks to Sherri Schleiter for being our reader and bringing “Dewey” (AKA Vallarta) out, Gary Pohl for bringing “Marley” (AKA Col. Mustard) out, Mo Musick for providing the bulletin board cutouts, and especially Paula Earp and the Golden Heart Community Foundation for providing the funds to make this possible.

Keep you eyes peeled for other kids readings and events coming up!
