Collections Report for August, 2017

Owl Moon by Jane Yolen Cataloging has continued in August, with another 171 titles added this month.  Focus remains on setting up a variety of children’s books for check out, including the Caldecott Medal winner, Owl Moon, and books for young readers and teens/young adults. Cooking, craft, gardening and Alaskana books continue to be added to the shelves, and we are set to catalog fine art books and some adult fiction and nonfiction.

The Clausen cabin will be open from 2 – 4 pm on Saturday, September 23.  Bring a pie to enter in the Pie Throwdown, contribute a pie to help with the fundraiser (we sell them for $5 a slice), or  look around at our progress and browse the collections.  Ruth, Kay, and Mindy will be there accepting pie entries and cataloging more books, so stop by to say hi or help add some book pockets and cards.
