The John Trigg Ester Library has several pieces of property and facilities, creating a small library campus within the village of Ester. These are the responsibility of the Facilities Committee to keep in good working order as welcoming and functional, useful facilities for our members to use.
The properties on the east side of Village Road feature the current Ida Laine Clausen Gazebo, across from the Ester Post Office; the site of the future JTEL, midway up at 488 Village Road at the top of the bluff; and a wooded lot at the top, on the corner of Village and Main Street.
In the village one finds the current library in a rented room at 3618 Main Street, on the ground floor of a two-storey red-and-white barn-roofed building made from historic materials recycled from the old Bentley Dairy. Across the road at 3629 Main Street in the former home of Ida and Ansgar Clausen and later Ray and Lynn Kulp will soon be the Ruth Jasper Children’s Room and the JTEL business office.
